Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and workers, and it was during this interaction that he told them, to refrain from making unnecessary remarks on films. This message can be seen as a signification development as many films in the recent times have faced boycott calls, and the latest movie to face this is the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham-starrer 'Pathaan'.

PM Modi addressed the second day of the BJP's national executive meet, and it was then that he suggested the leaders and workers to not make unnecessary remarks on irrelevant issues like movies as they put the party's development agenda on the backseat, Hindustan Times stated, citing a news agency PTI report.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra had made his displeasure known regarding 'Pathaan' movie song 'Besharam Rang'.

He had urged the makers to implement changes otherwise the state government would deliberate whether 'Pathaan' should be allowed to release in Madhya Pradesh or not.

The Censor Board had then asked the makers of 'Pathaan' to make some changes and resubmit the movie for getting a Censor certificate. 'Pathaan' has now gotten a U/A certificate.

Earlier this month, Suniel Shetty had interacted with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and he brought up the #BoycottBollywood hashtag.
